The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced on Monday, June 8, 2026, that it had targeted an industrial and petrochemical complex in Haifa in response to an Israeli strike on a petrochemical facility in Bandar Mahshahr.
In a statement, the Revolutionary Guard said it had carried out attacks against “similar industrial facilities” in Haifa and warned that targeting energy infrastructure was a “dangerous game” that could further escalate tensions across the Middle East.
Earlier on Monday, the Israeli military announced strikes on a petrochemical plant in Bandar Mahshahr, a claim also reported by Iranian media outlets.
The exchange marks the first direct military strikes between the two sides since the ceasefire that took effect in April.
