Israeli Escalation Continues in Southern Lebanon as Airstrikes Hit Tyre

Israeli military operations continued in southern Lebanon, with airstrikes targeting the city of Tyre, reportedly killing five people amid ongoing attacks against positions linked to Hezbollah.

According to Lebanon’s Ministry of Health, the death toll since March 2, 2026, has reached 3,637, with 11,188 people injured. The latest update reported 24 deaths and 116 injuries over the previous 24 hours.

On the political front, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun said indirect negotiations with Israel are currently focused on reaching a non-aggression agreement.

Aoun reiterated that he would not meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu before a comprehensive agreement ending the state of war is achieved.

He also expressed readiness to continue talks under U.S. mediation, citing efforts by President Donald Trump to help bring the conflict to an end.
