DR Congo head coach Sébastien Desabre has announced a 26-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, highlighted by the return of veteran midfielder Gaël Kakuta after a lengthy absence from the national team.

The 35-year-old playmaker was included despite limited appearances over the past two years, having missed several crucial qualification matches.

Desabre stressed that his selections were based on stability and experience, stating that “the World Cup is not a place for experimentation.”

DR Congo will compete in Group H alongside Portugal, Colombia, and Uzbekistan.
