German mathematician Joachim Clement has predicted that the Netherlands will win the 2026 FIFA World Cup, based on a mathematical model that successfully forecast the champions of the 2014, 2018, and 2022 tournaments.
According to his calculations, the final will feature the Netherlands and Portugal for the first time in World Cup history.
The model incorporates economic, demographic, sporting, and climatic factors, as well as an element of luck, which it considers a significant influence on knockout-stage outcomes.
