Saudi Arabia Announces Preliminary Expanded Squad for the 2026 World Cup Led by Salem Al-Dawsari

Saudi Arabia head coach Georgios Donis announced the preliminary squad for the “Green Falcons” ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, featuring 30 players who will later be reduced to 26 in accordance with tournament regulations.

The squad saw the exclusion of prominent names such as Salman Al-Faraj and Ali Al-Bulayhi, while introducing new faces, including goalkeeper Abdul Quddus Atiah and Neom player Alaa Al-Hajji.

The team will be led by Salem Al-Dawsari, Firas Al-Buraikan, and Mohammed Kanno, with the Green Falcons scheduled to play three friendly matches against Ecuador, Puerto Rico, and Senegal before the tournament begins.

Saudi Arabia will compete in Group H alongside Spain, Uruguay, and Cape Verde.
