A senior Pakistani police official said on Tuesday that seven people, including two police officers and five civilians, were killed and dozens injured in an explosion at a market in northwestern Pakistan.
The blast occurred in a market in Sarai Naurang near the city of Bannu, close to the Afghan border, marking the second deadly attack in the region within four days.
The incident has raised fears of renewed tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, especially after violent clashes between the two countries’ militaries earlier this year.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, while Pakistani authorities have launched an investigation into the explosion.
