French football icon Zinedine Zidane is reportedly close to making a return to coaching after nearly five years away from the sidelines.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Zidane has reached a verbal agreement with the French Football Federation to become head coach of the national team after the 2026 World Cup.

The move is expected to mark the beginning of a new era for France, with Zidane bringing significant experience at both domestic and European levels.
