Morocco’s National Agency for Water and Forests announced control over three of four wildfire hotspots in the Derdara commune of Chefchaouen Province, while efforts continue to extinguish the remaining blaze.

The fires have destroyed around 500 hectares, with 450 personnel supported by four “Canadair” and four “Turbo Thrush” aircraft deployed in the operation.
