Germany Approves €6.6 Million in Arms Exports to Israel Early in Iran War

German government data shows that Berlin approved €6.6 million ($7.8 million) in arms exports to Israel during the early weeks of the war with Iran, according to the German News Agency (dpa).

The approvals covered the period from February 28 to March 27, based on responses from the Economy Ministry to inquiries by the Left Party.

Despite the approvals, the volume remained relatively low compared to previous periods. By contrast, export licenses worth €166.95 million were granted over about four months after Germany lifted restrictions imposed during the Gaza war in November 2025.

The recent exports did not include heavy weapons such as tanks or artillery, but rather “other military equipment.”

Arms exports to Israel remain a sensitive issue for the German government, which initially increased support following the October 7, 2023 attack by Hamas.
