Fleet of Tankers Exits Gulf via Hormuz After Iran Reopens Strait

Vessel tracking data on Saturday showed a fleet of tankers leaving the Gulf and transiting the Strait of Hormuz, signaling a recovery in maritime traffic after Iran announced reopening the waterway.

According to MarineTraffic data, the fleet included four liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carriers, along with several tankers transporting refined oil products and chemicals, in addition to other vessels departing the Gulf.

Iran said on Friday it had fully reopened the strait to all commercial shipping in line with the ceasefire, adding that it would remain open for the duration of the truce.

Authorities also stated that vessels would transit through a “coordinated corridor” as outlined by Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization.
