Around 1.03 million Palestinian voters are heading to the polls to elect representatives for local councils.

The elections cover 183 local bodies, with thousands of candidates participating, including a notable proportion of women.

However, a significant number of councils will be decided uncontested, reflecting varying levels of competition across regions.
