The Sudanese army announced on Tuesday that it had taken control of three areas in Blue Nile State in southeastern Sudan following clashes with the Rapid Support Forces and the SPLM-North movement.
In a statement, the army said its forces had “cleansed” the areas of Abu Dagla, Adi Washambo, and Umm Shanqir, while seizing combat vehicles in good condition and pursuing withdrawing forces toward the international borders with Ethiopia and South Sudan.
No immediate comment was issued by the Rapid Support Forces or the SPLM-North movement.
The announcement comes days after the army declared control over Al-Baraka, Karn Karn, and Dokan in the same state.
