Violent incidents occurred during demonstrations in the Swiss cities of Zurich and Basel on Saturday, according to the Swiss news agency.
In Zurich, hundreds of protesters erected barricades, set a car on fire and clashed with police. Authorities said demonstrators used garbage containers and electric bicycles to block streets during an unauthorized protest.
The extent of the damage remained unclear.
In Basel, approximately 150 people joined a demonstration in the city center, prompting a temporary suspension of public transportation before the gathering turned violent.
