China’s Ministry of Commerce said on Saturday that Beijing is “deeply dissatisfied” with the United States’ decision to add several major Chinese companies to a Pentagon list of firms that Washington alleges are linked to or support the Chinese military.
The ministry also expressed concern over the latest update issued by the U.S. Department of Defense, which included some of China’s leading technology, automotive, and renewable energy companies.
The revised list features prominent firms operating in e-commerce, internet services, electric vehicle manufacturing, and other strategic sectors.
The United States also added the world’s two largest solar panel manufacturers to the list, a move that could further heighten trade and technology tensions between the world’s two largest economies.
