Kyiv was hit by a missile attack overnight from Wednesday to Thursday, according to the head of the city’s military administration, Timur Tkachенко, with no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
The French news agency reported that explosions and missile sounds were heard across the capital, while residents were seen rushing toward shelters in response to the attack.
The strike comes as the Russia-Ukraine war, now in its fourth year, continues to see a sharp escalation in aerial attacks over recent months, resulting in growing civilian casualties.
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump, speaking at the G7 summit in Évian, urged Russia to reach a peace agreement and suggested that Washington could reimpose sanctions previously lifted on Moscow.
