Côte d’Ivoire Lose Wahi for Germany Clash After Canada Visa Denial

The Ivorian Football Federation has announced that striker Elye Wahi will miss Côte d’Ivoire’s second World Cup match against Germany after being unable to obtain a visa to enter Canada.

According to the federation, the issue is linked to an investigation into alleged betting-related match-fixing activities in French football.

The federation reiterated its full support for the player and expressed confidence in him, noting that it has not received any official notification of legal proceedings against Wahi.

The decision comes despite Wahi starting in Côte d’Ivoire’s opening World Cup victory over Ecuador.
