The United Nations has warned of a worsening humanitarian crisis in Sudan, stating that the country now tops the list of 13 global hunger hotspots at risk of severe food insecurity.
A joint report by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the World Food Programme (WFP) indicated that ongoing conflict and declining humanitarian funding could push millions of Sudanese people into catastrophic levels of hunger and malnutrition in the coming months unless urgent and large-scale humanitarian action is taken.
