The Sudanese army announced that it had taken control of the Al-Keili area near the city of Kurmuk in Blue Nile State following clashes with the Rapid Support Forces and allied SPLM-North fighters.
The army stated that its forces inflicted “heavy losses” on the opposing forces in personnel and equipment, emphasizing that military operations would continue to secure the area and border regions.
Blue Nile State has witnessed escalating confrontations in recent weeks amid the ongoing war between the Sudanese army and the RSF since April 2023. This conflict has caused widespread displacement and famine.
