Swedish intelligence services announced on Monday that two detained individuals are suspected of exporting “advanced products” to Russia in possible violation of European sanctions imposed on Moscow.
According to Swedish media reports, the products are believed to have industrial and military-related applications. Security authorities confirmed that the two suspects were detained last week as part of an ongoing investigation.
In a statement, Swedish security services said several operations and house raids had been carried out in connection with the case, adding that a deeper investigation is currently underway.
Judicial documents reviewed by Agence France-Presse indicate that the alleged activities took place between June 2025 and May 2026.
Authorities said formal charges are expected to be filed before June 5.
The investigation comes amid European Union sanctions imposed on Russia following the outbreak of the war in Ukraine in 2022, including broad restrictions on technological and industrial exports.
