The result completed the quarter-final lineup, with Switzerland set to face defending champions Argentina on July 11 in Kansas City.

The Swiss side also equaled its best-ever World Cup performance by reaching the quarter-finals, matching its achievements in 1934, 1938, and 1954, while ending a streak of Round of 16 eliminations in the previous three editions.
