U.S. President Donald Trump said he instructed his representatives not to rush into reaching an agreement with Iran, stressing that “time is on Washington’s side” and that sanctions will remain in place until a final deal is signed.
A U.S. official indicated that disagreements persist over several details despite reports that Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei approved the broad outlines of a potential understanding.
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu insisted that any agreement must include dismantling Iran’s uranium enrichment facilities and preventing Tehran from acquiring nuclear capabilities.
