Mass Protests in Brussels Against Austerity Policies

Over 100,000 people took to the streets of Brussels on Tuesday in a massive demonstration organized by the country’s three main labor unions against government austerity policies, cutting pensions and healthcare spending.

Police used water cannons to disperse protesters after minor clashes in the city center.

Prime Minister Bart De Wever faced mounting criticism for his fiscal reform plan, while unions warned that the measures “undermine social justice.”
