Russia’s Federal Security Service announced it had foiled a car bomb plot targeting officials from the communications regulatory authority.

Seven suspects were arrested, while the group’s leader was killed while resisting arrest.

Authorities stated that the suspects were linked to extremist ideologies and had been recruited via digital platforms, amid rising internal tensions.
