The Saudi Arabian Football Federation has announced the appointment of Greek coach Georgios Donis as head coach of the national team until July 2027, succeeding Frenchman Hervé Renard.
The decision comes less than two months before the start of the 2026 World Cup, in a move aimed at ensuring technical stability.
Donis brings extensive coaching experience in Europe and Saudi Arabia, having previously managed Al-Hilal and Al-Fateh, winning multiple titles—factors expected to facilitate his quick integration with the team in the coming phase.
