Israeli forces carried out more than ten airstrikes on areas in southern Lebanon within a single hour, despite media reports indicating that a ceasefire with Hezbollah had entered into effect.

The escalation followed a day in which 47 people were reported killed and 97 injured in a series of Israeli strikes targeting multiple locations in southern and eastern Lebanon.

The latest developments mark one of the most significant escalations since the U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding, which called for ending military operations across multiple fronts.
