The Sudanese army announced that it had taken control of the “Al-Baraka” area near the city of Kurmuk in Blue Nile State after clashes with the Rapid Support Forces and their allies along the Ethiopian border.

The army stated that the Fourth Infantry Division carried out “decisive” military operations that resulted in the expulsion of RSF fighters, the destruction of military equipment, and the seizure of additional weapons and vehicles.

It added that the advance is part of efforts to secure Sudan’s eastern borders and prevent human trafficking and arms smuggling operations.

No immediate comment was issued by the Rapid Support Forces regarding the clashes.
